About Us

SISA Centre is a regional Organization working to develop and implement practical options to leverage donor funding and build sustainability among NGOs, CBOs and other donor funded development Organizations in Africa.
SISA Centre achieves this through three main programs. The first focuses on community wealth creation programs including social business options such as social enterprise and value-chain support.
The second option targets Organizational alternative funding options such as private sector leverage funding, commercial enterprise, Social Investment and Social entrepreneurship. The third option involves institutional strengthening for sustained impact beyond donor support. It includes strategy and planning, Governance and management strengthening for sustainability.
SISA Centre also promotes private sector engagement in development while also working on policy and advocacy in areas of Development sustainability. These include areas of Development effectiveness, NGO legislation and standards for NGO development effectiveness.
SISA Centre for Corporate Partnership has adopted three approaches to development sustainability.
The first approach is the use of the highly acclaimed “SISA™” Model to support individual Organizations in building their own sustainability. This model begins with an assessment of the capability and capacity of an organization, leading to a strategy session where we work with the Organization to develop full long term sustainability Strategy Plan. We then work to support the development of systems and where necessary independent institutions that are intended to help implement the strategy. In the case of an NGO this may mean developing a commercial arm that is independent of the Organization. Finally we work with the organization through an implementation process, allowing the organization to tap into our vast network of skills, resources and contacts to build their own capacity.
This approach also supports institutional, program and community sustainability through Organizational Development support. It includes Strategy, Programmatic Approach, Network Building, long term Resource Mobilization and change management.
The second approach is generating and enabling NGOs and CBOs to access new knowledge and practical options for sustainability. These include Livelihoods scale up and social enterprises financing options such as social investment and Socials Bonds.
SISA Centre is also part of the Organizations working under the Kenya Social Investment Forum to structure financing through a Social Stock Exchanges and private sector partnerships value chain support.
SISA Centre is based in Kenya and works throughout Africa.
